Your friend/colleague: Hey!! What are you reading nowadays?
You: I used to, a long time back. Who has the time now? Deadline for project completion approaching in a few days.
But meanwhile, you are thinking about how you miss reading…. Hold on…. Alarm Bell!!!!
We are in a constant race every time which makes us leave behind so many beautiful habits, which once were an intrinsic part of our life.
If you ask me, right starting from eagerly waiting for my library period during school or setting challenge with friends in the college, to finish Harry Potter books in record time or to gain inclination towards classics in the later part of my life, my reading habits have come a long way. But there was a time when books remained untouched for months together. Let me take out some pages from my own life experience and put across, how I got back to my lost reading habits. It takes a while but it works for sure (trust yourself!!!)
#1. Anonymous : If you are are thinking, I forgot to give you the name of the writer, then you are absolutely wrong. Actually, I am not going to specify any book here. After many days or might be years of hiatus, it is better to go slow or rather better to go back to your favorite book, which you liked long back. Or the writer of your liking ,whoes style or genre you liked. It can be any magazine or comics to your liking as well.
#2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: This book has a mind-blowing plot and an equally great character development. A deadly battle for survival, which is a punishment for a past rebellion against the Capitol. Protagonist’s determination to keep herself alive in the game without support is a big take away.
#3. Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown: Dan Brown smartly generates interest in speculation concerning the Holy Grail legend and Mary Magdalene’s role in the history of Christianity. A captivating detective thriller in the fiction genre, shall make your brain explode with the way the plot unfolds.
#4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky: You shall be intrigued by the rather unconventional style of thinking of the protagonist. His way of or rather attempts of dealing with poignant questions arising from his interaction with family and friends. A coming of age novel during the end of 20th century.
I have kept the list of books a little light because it will be easy during the process of coming back to the track of your reading habits. It is unnecessary to go for complicated or complex reading practices, to help you keep focused in this journey. One more thing, go for a convenient option to get books like an online book rental library like ememozine to give you the unlimited option of books as well as easy access.
Enjoy Reading!!!
